By Arnon Regular and Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondents, and Agencies
Witnesses say Israel Air Force helicopter gunships
fired missiles at a building in Gaza City, in the
north Gaza Strip on Saturday afternoon, lightly
injuring Hamas spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed
Yassin.
According to Hamas and other
Palestinian sources, the
spiritual leader and an
assistant had recently left the
building that was targeted
shortly prior to the attack.
Witnesses are saying Sheikh
Yassin and his aide were rushed
away in a car.
The wheelchair bound Sheikh Yassin, who is
co-founder of Hamas, was reportedly treated for
his injuries at Gaza City's Shifa Hospital.
Finally, Israel gets serious about eliminating Hamas.
