    Sept. 19-22 Forum Maintenance

The forum is undergoing maintenance from Friday, September 19 till about the 22nd.

During this time, we hope to have the forum up and running as normally as possible, but from time to time, some functions may not work, and the forum itself may be temporarily closed (as happened for a few hours on Friday).

I suggest that before posting, you do a CTL +C to copy your work to the clipboard and paste it into a temporary text file, so you don't lose any posts, (just in case).

This is part 1 of a system-wide upgrade. I'm not sure when we'll get to part 2.

Sorry or the inconvenience. Unfortunately, server and application upgrades are a necessary evil.

If we're lucky, though, the interruption will be minimal, and most members won't even notice it's taking place.

ygalg1, did you look at the date on Newsguy's post? The upgrade happened ages ago.
I think the lack of avatars and the limited number of emoticons is something that was decided upon rather than a limit imposed by the system.
