American Muslims Told to Leave Major U.S. Cities

An Al Qaeda (search) Web site is running a warning issued to Muslims to leave Washington D.C., New York City and Los Angeles because of implied imminent terrorist attacks, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute.


Titled "A Warning to Muslims in America," the directive was issued by the previously unknown "Islamic Bayan Movement" and first ran on the Global Islamic Media Web site on Monday, according to MEMRI, which translated the communiqué.

It has since been published on the Al Qaeda-run site Al Faroq (search), a MEMRI release said. The Global Islamic Media site has published several messages from Jihad groups around the world in recent months.

As of Tuesday, there had been no increase in the Pentagon's yellow terror alert status. Yellow represents an "elevated" status on the five-point chart.

"Our Muslim brothers in America, we ask you to immediately leave the following cities: Washington, D.C., New York, and Los Angeles," reads the communiqué, which frequently quotes the Quran.

"We are serious in our warning," the message states. "The next few days will prove to you the truth of this warning … To the oppressive rulers of America we say: Expect our terms following the first strike of Allah's believing soldiers [Quran, Chapter 59, Verse 2-3]."

The directive claims that U.S. soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan "are the only ones who know the bitter truth" about the situation overseas.

"How would they not when they see every day dozens of casualties from among their friends, the soldiers who die and nobody, even not their stupid rulers, is sorry for them," the communiqué states. "Then they hear the lies and distortion their rulers [tell] their people and the peoples of the world regarding the number of their dead …"

The communiqué refers to the "sufferings" of Muslims, saying they are victims of oppression, imprisonment and murder.

It ends with another verse from the Quran [Chapter 9, Verse 14]: "Fight them: Allah will punish them at your hands, and will humiliate them, and will help you to overcome them, and will relieve the minds of the believers."

In conjunction with the memo, Al Qaeda's Al Faroq posted a photo of the Chinook helicopter shot down on Sunday with a caption in Arabic that reads: "We shall bring down and destroy the values of the Hubal of this generation." Fifteen Americans died in the helicopter attack.

This is nonsense.

If a major attack was really in the works, they would not warn Muslims. Like the Hamas barbarians, the Al Qaeda barbarians are as eager to "martyr" Muslims as they are to kill "infidels."

In any event, Islamists would never jeopardize an operation to save a few hundred thousand Muslims.

However, this warning may be an attempt to provoke violence between American non-Muslims and Muslims.

I really can’t understand why we don’t use this opportunity to introduce to the Muslim world our new MAD (Mecca Assured Destruction) policy. Maybe this will get the Muslim world to take the danger of Islamic terrorism a little more seriously. Right now they think the US is the only nation at risk of a WMD attack. I don’t think they even begin to comprehend just how dangerous the United States could become with an emotionally & fearful 30 minute solution to this whole problem.

The US has decimated entire nations for smaller attacks with very little remorse afterwards given the incredible carnage inflicted on the “enemy”. We killed more civilians in 3 days during the Tokyo fire bombings than the US had in total causalities for the entire period of WW2 on both fronts. Was this a measured response by the US?

I think a WMD attack would forever remove the barrier the president has tried to maintain between the current war on terror (a tactic of this war) and the war on Islamism (an ideology of this war). The Muslim culture doesn’t have a monopoly on pure emotional and hatred filled attacks.

I sincerely hope this is just more of the same Islamic narcissism we have be hearing for over 2 years for the stake of millions of lives in both the US and Muslim worlds. If not 9-11 could well just be the fuse leading to a much bigger War. We should all pray to whatever God we believe in that this horror doesn’t come to pass.

You know that I've been thinking a lot about this. In Israel there have been hundreds of terror attacks, err, thousands, 'only' hundreds caused casualties. The governement reacts, but not really. If there would be a major attack with about 900 deaths (the current death toll in Israel) how would Israel react then? I sometimes hope (I hope you guys don't mis-interpet me) that there would be simply one big large attack, and after that we would act like we should!

Same goes for the US. What will happen if there will be dozens of 'small' attacks with dozens of casualties? A big change in decision making?? a change in public opinion?? I'm quite confident that if there would be again something on the scale of 9-11 in the US all bets would be off.

That's why I sometimes just hope those terrorist would stop their small attacks and only make 1-2 large attacks, so we could get rid of them once and for all

So why don’t we all hope that Islamic fundamentalists wipe out London, New York and LA in one day.

Smaller attacks as bad as they are can be absorbed whereas a major attack has the potential to plunge the whole world into a deep depression.

What is this Al Qaida website to which they are referring? If it is Al Qaida, why hasn't it been shut down yet. There is no freedom of speech for anyone representing Al Qaida in this country or in almost any other.
