Your Congressmember's vote will also demand positive action from Arab nations and UN on Palestinian refugees
ZOA Members and supporters of Israel: We again ask for you to join us in winning a battle in Washington DC in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
Recently, a very productive resolution has been introduced in the House of Representatives. The resolution (H.Con.Res 311) has two parts.
First, it expresses the sense of the United States Congress that the international community should recognize the plight of the nearly 1 million JEWISH refugees from Arab countries who were forced to flee their homes in Arab countries because they faced a campaign of ethnic cleansing.
Second, the resolution calls upon the United Nations Palestinian Refugee relief organization, UNWRA, after a half century of inaction,to finally establish a program to resettle Palestinian Arab refugees in the host Arab countries in which they are living, as well as replacing the anti-Semitic textbooks paid for and distributed to Palestinian Arab schoolchildren by the organization. Finally, it demands that Arab countries involve themselves with the resettlement of Palestinian refugees by contributing to a lasting solution to the refugee problem, just as Israel did for the Jewish refugees from Arab lands.
We ask that you take one minute to fill out the ZOA’s user-friendly CapWiz service to express to your Congressman your strong support of this resolution. It is through your grassroots activism that amplifies your voice, as well as that of the ZOA, on Capitol Hill for future issues affecting Israel and the Jewish community.

Required text to House: This text shall be included in your message.
I am writing you as an active pro-Israel constituent urging you to support H.Con.Res.311 which was introduced recently in the House by Reps. Ros-Lehtinen, Pallone, and Nadler.
This resolution is of significant importance to me because it acknowledges the tragic story of the Jewish refugees which has sadly gone unrecognized by the international community. In the years during and after the Holocaust in Europe, nearly one million Jewish refugees were forced to flee Arab nations after a campaign of ethnic cleansing was unleashed against them. These Jewish refugees were forced to leave behind their land, homes, businesses, and heritage, to avoid persecution or worse from the Arab governments. It is time that our country takes the lead in bringing forth the plight of Jewish refugees before the international community.
What is morally disturbing is that while most of these Jewish refugees were absorbed by the tiny state of Israel, the fate of the Palestinian Arab refugees lingers on because of irresponsible conduct from Arab leadership and UNWRA, the UN organization created specifically for the Palestinian issue. It is important for Congress to express to such parties that it is time for the Palestinian Arab refugee problem to reach its conclusion. Your support of this resolution will send a message to UNWRA and Arab nations that instead of financing anti-Semitic textbooks, efforts and resources should be devoted to resettling these refugees either in Arab countries or third party countries willing to assist.
Because of the important implications and message of this legislation, I strongly hope that you will take these considerations in mind and support this sensible resolution.
