    UN Says Israelis Starving Palestinians

The UN has issued a report saying that Israeli policies are starving Palestinians to death and that 9% of Palestinian children under the age of 5 have brain defects from malnourishment due to the occupation. Contact your Rep today about this genocide.
    * The U.N. report charges that Israel is denying the Palestinian population food and water and that as a result, half of all Palestinian households are eating only one meal per day, which they are receiving from international food aid organizations. Ziegler reported that many Palestinians are subsisting on bread and tea and that the level malnutrition in Gaza is equal to those in sub-Saharan African countries. Ziegler points out that this is “an absurd situation as Palestine was formerly a middle-income economy with a rich agricultural base.”

Tell your representative and the president that because we are providing welfare to the Israeli government to commit its crimes, we have a moral obligation to fund the United Nations so that it can continue to feed starving children in Gaza.

Something REALLY needs to be done about the UN

BTW, as for the "one meal a day" thingi ... It is called Ramadan.
it happence every year for one month, all over the muslem world, for the last 13 centuries or so. When muslems fast in day light hours.

Israel should have solidify a block with in the UN of all the enemies of the Islamists, the Arabs and the Europeans. Many countries that can counter Arab UN control.

    OR

Israel could declear the UN as a lost battle, and resign totally. Kicking all UN personel home, including UNRA, UNIFIL and others. So many jobs and papers the UN would lose.... so many careers for promising anti semite will be cut short...

Other countires might follow Israel in forming an alternative international body for co-operation. However small the establishment would be, it will hurt UN power and credability.

Yasser doesn't give a flying damn about anyone but himself... he doesn't deserve to share the air we breath.

I believe there is a deeper problem.

The western world, fails to applay the same moral responsiblity upon leaders of the theird world and Arabs.

Arabs are considered humanly and morally infrior to white folks, by most leftwingers in the west. Arab leaders are treated as if they are children or madmen who are not responsible for their actions. That is part of the warth against the war in Iraq! "How can Bush expect Saddam to behave like a responsible leader? He is an Arab! One can not ask an Arab to behave in a moral and responsible manner!" .

This is Leftic racism against Arabs, in a nut shell.

    Interesting point.
Cant say I have ever thought of it in such a manner but it would explain why I have heard so many Leftists blame Israel, suggesting that Israel, as the "more intelligent" nation, should be the one to lead both nations to peace.
As an adult would lead a naughty child..............

Two very sincere left-leaning friends of mine PRIVATELY justify their opposition to the US intervention in Iraq to me on the ground that "we all know these people are incapable of self-government, so why bother?"

I believe this is what underlies much of the leftist opposition to ANY US involvement in the Arab Middle East. But it is indeed racist, as has been pointed out above, and no liberal can be caught out saying it publicly. So they seize on other grounds, however spurious, to justify their position.

A good friend of mine who reads/ghosts this forum once wrote this in an email to me, which I thought summed it all up rather well, as you both have done above.

What he says is that despite the liberal whining that is fast becoming epidemic, anyone, REGARDLESS OF RACE, can still rise to the middle class, or even greatness, if one is willing to work hard.
I feel that the one thing that conservatives have in spades over the liberals is an enduring faith in the ability of people to rise above their situation to achieve almost anything that they put their minds to. Liberals would have us believe that all poor people need a handout to help them achieve anything, even just mediocrity. I feel that if young people are not fed defeatist they can grow up with the ability to dream, and the wherewithal to achieve that dream.

Having always been right of centre, this leftist attitude I've never quite understood.

I greatly enjoyed reading the posts on this thread!

I particularly like the left-wing liberals who apply lower expectations of morality to Arabs for one reason or another...... essentially making them racists. Blaming "the occupation" is scapegoating and ignoring prospective documentation.

A quick look at the Israeli Bureau of Statistics figures over the years clearly shows that before the creation of the Palestine Authority, the standard of living was higher, infant mortality lower, salaries higher, and so on, for Arabs living in the "territories".

It takes truly perverted twists of logic to accuse Israel of starving Palestinians.
