    Netanyahu on eliminating PA terror

"First, Israel must be prepared to use any means necessary to stop the terror, even if that entails the end of the Palestinian Authority.

Second, the Israeli government must unite behind this policy, a policy supported by the overwhelming majority of the nation.

Third, Israel must explain to the international community that we are exercising our nation's most basic right to defend its citizens. The presence in Washington today of an administration strongly committed to fighting terrorism should make that task easier. After all, if the U.S. and Britain bombed Moammar Kadafi's Libya over the bombing of a Berlin nightclub, Israel certainly has the right to take action after Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are bombed by Arafat's proxies.

Adopting these measures should stop the terror without having to dismantle the Palestinian Authority. But if Arafat doesn't get the message, his replacement surely will: Any Palestinian regime that terrorizes Israel will not survive."

"Security forces prevent suicide bombing in Tel Aviv "

Chalk up another one for the good guys,

credit Rebecca Anna Stoil of JPost:

[..A large-scale, rapid response by security forces to specific intelligence that a Palestinian had infiltrated Israel on Tuesday afternoon and intended to execute a terror attack prevented a suicide bombing, police announced Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Shin Bet received a report that a bomber had planned to target the new Tel Aviv central bus station and passed the information on to police. Police forces fanned out throughout the city and its suburbs, setting up roadblocks and conducting sweeps.

The alert level throughout Israel's central region was immediately raised as security forces raced to locate and arrest the would-be bomber.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Shin Bet agents arrived at a second-floor apartment in Bat Yam, where the bomber was hiding. They arrested him, and the suspect subsequently led them to the explosives-filled bag he had hidden in Rishon Lezion, south of Tel Aviv.

Sappers detonated the bag without incident in a controlled explosion. Police later reported that the bag contained a large quantity of explosives, and said that if the bomber had managed to execute the attack, it would have resulted in extensive casualties.

The bomber, a native of a West Bank village near Jenin, reportedly left Palestinian territory on Tuesday morning and made his way to the country's central region. The Islamic Jihad, known to be particularly active in the Jenin region, was reportedly responsible for planning the attack and setting in motion its implementation.

A number of other individuals suspected of aiding the would-be bomber were also arrested.

Police continued to maintain a heightened presence in and around Bat Yam and Rishon Lezion.

The last suicide bombing in Israel took place less than a month ago, when a suicide bomber blew himself up in an Eilat bakery, killing three. ..]
