The cycle of violance must end. I hope that the spanish will responded in a proportional and moderate manner. Better yet, not to respond at all.Originally posted by Raidri

State department should ask Spainish goverment to "think carfuly about the consequance of their actions" when considering their responce.
The pope would say:" We Catholics believe in tunring the other cheak, LOVE our enemies and forgive the bombers, for they know not what they are doing. Spain like the USA after 9-11, must remember that two wrongs don't make a right".
World media: "Spain should understand the motives of the bombers, the proverty, the dessperation and the lose of honor that cause INDIVIDUALS to perform acts of desperation".
The UN must condem BOTH sides for the continunity of the violance. Israeli FM must express sorrow for the death of ALL civilians, in both sides.
Personaly, I suggest to end immidiately the Spanish occupation and deliver half of Madrid, including the king's palace, to the bombers!!!
USA and Israel should send peacekeepers to defend the bomber family from harm.
Now madrid, next Paris, next Berlin...
is it clear now that the ETA is responsible for that? turned off the TV the last 30 minutes,...
Irony doesn't quite work though does it Gil, because I doubt very much if Spain are going to respond militatirly in the Basque.Originally posted by Gilgamesh

And if they are, I completely agree they ought to consider the consequences of their actions. Surely that is only sensible?!
And it's a shame you have felt only to make a sarcastic point in the wake of this tragedy, and made no attempt to express sympathy for those affected.

ETA demands are quite understandable. ETA manner of action is more like assasintating Spanish judges, generals and poliemen, and terrorise turists through relatively harmless car bombs, with limited demage and several warning calls in advance.
It is clearly not ETA, most probably Al Quaida who considered whole of spain as lost Arab territory, the land of the lost Arab state of the Halifat of Kordova, which ceased to exist in 1492, in the fall of Grenda. Their claim about spain is far far stronger then their claime against Israel. Maybe Spain should consider to reconcile with Al Quida, show us "savege ruthless Jews" of Israel, the proper way to achive peace. A chance for Spain and the rest of Europe, to show personal example, for inferior cultures, such as Israel and the USA.
Watching very closely as my mother in law lives there half of the year and is on her way back on Saturday. And Kev and I will be going there again soon. Although she lives in the small town of Mijas ( where the donkey rides are famous ) so it is about 3 hours south of Madrid.
It appears to be ETA although they believe they may have used some of Al Queda tactics for the first time in order to be heard.
The type of explosion device is known to be the same type ETA uses, although so far they are not claiming responsibility and some Islamic group is.
There are still many bodies unaccounted for so the toll is naturally expected to rise.
Its a horrible thing to say, but with 13 explosions, had it BEEN Al Queda, I suspect many more would have been dead.
Im betting on ETA despite the growing speculation that it may be this so called Islamic group.
But I suspect that Al Queda groups arent too far behind.........
Actually, I express similar sympathy for dead Euros as they sympethies with our victims of Arab terror actions. In other words: Not very much. At least, I'm not a hypocrate.Originally posted by peacelover

As someones sig here once suggested the ONLY thing terrorist groups understand is military defeat. And if they are, I completely agree they ought to consider the consequences of their actions. Surely that is only sensible?!
Peaceful solutions are exactly why terrorism is so out of control because of far too many attitudes such as your own.
And its very refreshing that he isnt a hypocrite! Not very much. At least, I'm not a hypocrate.
I'll wait for the official reports on who it was. It does seem like "too much" for the ETA.Originally posted by Gilgamesh

Anyway, it's horrific, my sympathies to all the victims and their friends and families..
ETA has a history of first not taking responsiblity and then admitting it later.
Im still betting on it being ETA.

AFAIK, ETA has connections with the underworld, different Mafia and gangs of smugglers and narcotics. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So does El-Quaida, and that is certain. Most probably, ETA agents were hired by El-Quida, worked like merceneries. The tactics and explosives and inteligance, is ETA. The choise of targets and reclaimation of responsibility, is El-Quida.Originally posted by Kev

Notice only that. It took monthes, before El-Quida took official responsability, and either way, they refer the attack success as "act of G-d". A proof that G-d is on the Islamist side, and you all need to convert to Islam or die.
