The Washington DC Rally!

Did anyone go to the rally in Washington D.C. ? My brother's friend did (his whole high school went), and I know about 15 other people who did. There are rumors saying that 250,000 Jews (6% of the Jewish pop. in the US) were there to support Israel. 5 hour drive from here in New York.I think that's great, but did any of you go? Jews from all over came flying into Washington DC. Does anyone know the number that were there, and were you??

General X-- I WENT...I was born in DC and lived here in the area all my life. I have no idea how many people were there and you wont get the truth of actually how many from secular Newspapers, especially the Wash Post. They LIED about how many we were in the 1987 March. It could have been bigger. Let me tell you how they were able to affect the numbers. Its all about the numbers, you know. Unlike any single Demonstration held in DC, the local media did NO STORIES whatsoever on this March. I, along with other Washingtonians that dont have kids in Sat. School or Day School and are not Orthadox, didnt even know that the March was on until it appeared on the local Media on Sat morning. That was way too late for many of us to take off work and school. Isnt that a cute way to keep the "numbers down"? Incidently there will be an Anti IMF March next week and there ARE stories galore about it on the local TV...just like they usually do, at least a week in advance.

I was in the back of the March on my so called Demonstration Bench and was listening on the Radio. I usually do this so as to get my body counted BUT get a leg up on getting home. Its a good plan. It was HOT...as the devil. We had a BOMB scare for all the banks in DC and the surrounding area.

The Demon. was a REMINDER to America. We are one of your most loyal, loving and useful groups. Israel is also the most loyal and useful of Allies. AMERICA...BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE...thats the message that was delivered. The other message IS Terrorism is Terrorism WHEREVER it happens.

So probably around 120000 people, or 2% of the American Jewish population, went!
