IDF finds 12 liters of poisonous bromine hidden in Arafat's Ramallah compound

The following is IMRA's translation of part of an item by investigative reporter Yoav Yitzchak's report in today's Ma'ariv:

The Palestinians, perhaps with Iraqi inspiration, have begun preparing a chemical arsenal for their war against the Jews. I have learned from information brought to my attention that on April 10 six suspicious tubes were captured in the Mukata building in Ramallah [IMRA: Arafat's compound] and each of them contained two liters. They were buried in a sandbox, apparently due to their fragility and in light of the dangers associated with their content.

A short check proved that they contained bromine. The IDF Technology Unit removed the tubes from the location.

Bromine is a volatile liquid, of brownish-red color and it is extremely poisonous if inhaled. It is a corrosive that dissolves tissue, particularly in humans. It is dangerous if inhaled even at a concentration of one per million. Very low concentrations of the chemical are used in the production of flammable material, disinfectants and in the pharmaceutical industry.

A small quantity (say a few hundred cc) out of the total quantity seized could cause - if for example it is attached to an explosive device - considerably damage and even cause mass murder in such closed areas as shopping malls.

Given the Palestinian terrorist connection with Iraq, I have to wonder if they are getting tutorials on chemical and biological warfare. A potential catastrophe is lurking.

Bromine was used in poison gas warfare during World War I.

One day when he was working in his laboratory, poisonous bromine spilled on his face and legs, and bromine gas filled his lungs. It could have been far worse: The young man working beside Carothers lost most of his penis.
Fritz Haber invented poison gas warfare for the Germans in World War I. Say what you want about the demon (Arafat) but he sure seems to have learned from history.
Arafat?s specialty is orchestrating terrorist attacks against Jews and now this added discovery. Of course the reply will be that its been planted by the IDF.

First of all ... I don't know what to believe when it come to the IDF !

Second ... I must have the same fear from the Israeli nuclear program..

Third... I wish that non of the weapons is used any more .. be it traditional or a weapon of mass destruction.

Well, so far, please tell me which IDF communique has been false? Becuase to the best of my knowledge the IDF has been 100% accurate in ts reporting of events.

You can't decide that if the truth is something you don't like, then it is false.

Well I know for a fact that the West (that includes Israel) wont resort to using chemical, biological or nuclear weapons unless backed into a corner.

Here comes the but………………†¦â€¦â€¦.if any nation is seen as a threat, threatens or uses weapons like that…………..it should be obliterated from the face of this earth.

I would even suggest that any nation and/or people and/or leaders that have shown to be aggressive in the past should be liquidated.

Palestinians produced chemical and biological weapons to target Israeli population centers as well as national water reservoirs, a senior source told the Ynet Hebrew news website.

According to the source, Israeli troops discovered chemical and biological weapons during Operation Defensive Shield.

The weapons were formulated from materials - including potash and cyanide - purchased within Israel.

I'm thankful that so much Palestinian aggression has been halted in its tracks, first with the Karine-A and the 50 tons of weapons, the capture of hundreds of terrorists, and now these chemical warfare discoveries. As bad as things have been for Israel, there were plans to make things immeasuably worse.

Israel has nukes, but they are to prevent militant islamic regimes from trying to destroy Israel.

The PA has chemical weapons. Their purpose is not to protect Palestinians, but to kill Jews. Clearly, if the PA terrorist coalition could kill thousands of Jews in one attack -- instead of just 20 -- that is what they would do.

The PA is evil and must be destroyed. Once Arafat is dead, I'm sure we can find some decent Palestinian leaders who are tired of the PA's culture of death and the Arab world's never-ending racist war to "drive the Jews into the sea."

my question is... would the PLO use the chemicals blatently against Israel, or..... against their own people?....which would only lead to the 'obvious' conclusion that israel carried out the attack....

Pentagon: Hamas experimenting with chemical weapons

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon has determined that the Hamas terrorist organization has been conducting research in the use of chemical weapons for suicide bombers.

U.S. officials said the Islamic militant group has experimented with explosives and chemicals that could spread lethal agents over a wide area, Middle East Newsline reported.

"Some of the groups, like Hamas, are exploring ways to utilize WMD [Weapons of Mass Destruction]," Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Marshall Billingslea said. "Hamas is working with poisons and chemicals and an effort to coat suicide bomber fragments."

In testimony to the Senate International Security subcommittee on Monday, Billingslea said Hamas's efforts represent a growing focus by Islamic insurgency groups to develop biological and chemical weapons. The Pentagon official said Hamas and other group could be obtaining help from such countries as Iran, Iraq and Syria, who are themselves pursuing WMD programs.
Hamas might be obtaining help in the WMD effort from other Islamic groups as well as such state terror sponsors as Iran and Syria, the officials said.

It should be clear at this point that solving the terrorism problem in Israel is not a matter of just being a little softer, a little nicer, and a little more conciliatory. There is every indication that matters will get much worse if sufficient action is not taken.

Passover massacre mastermind planned mass cyanide attack

Charges were filed Thursday at the Tel Aviv District court against Abas el-Sayad, the Hamas military wing leader in Tulkarm, Army Radio reported.

Prosecutors said that apart from attacks already committed el-Sayad was planning a cyanide attack

El-Sayad is charged with being behind the Passover massacre bombing at the Park Hotel and the bombing of the Sharon shopping mall in Netanya.

34 Israelis were killed in the two attacks and dozens wounded.

I think that if the Palestinians and their Saudi and Iranian puppet masters succeed in using chemical weapons on Israeli citizens, then it would be a major turning point in the Mideast conflict.

If more Israelis would become convinced that the Palestinian war of terrorism is an existential threat (I personally do believe that is now already), then Israel would finally act to solve the Palestinian terrorism problem once and for all.
