Well, as far as governments go, Israel and Turkey are in a quite close relatioponship. Actually, that 77' movie about the guy that was arrested in Turkey for carrying drugs ("Midnight Express"?) was actually banned in Israel for quite a while, in order to "not hurt our close ally".
Night_Flight : I wonder, how do the parliament members treat the Israeli affair? I`ve heard one of the ministers talking about an Israeli genocide against the pallies, but afterwards he apologized. What do the others think?
well. Midnight Express is full of lies. its an anti turkish propaganda movie just like the movie arart or lawrance. no body treats foreigners as their enemy here. on the contrary foreigners are interested here and they are welcomed. you can ask tourists who have been in turkey before.
yeah our P:M said its a genocide and he apologized and he said his speech exceeded its direction. actually he is over 70 and he is badly sick now.
which i like the movie that is related with jewish history is La vita é Bella (life is beautiful) i always cry at the end of the movie. its really saddening and impressive.
Although turkey is a muslim country it has better relations with israel than all arabic countries. yes ALL arabic countries.
syria and iraq supported PKK (kurdish terrorists)
lebanon supported PKK and ASALA(armenian terrorist group that kiiled 70 turkish ambassador over the world)
Saudi arabia destroys ancient turkish historical buildings in saudi arabia. to sum up Turks and Turkish regym are hated by arabic governments. and most of arab folk.
as if we turks love them so much! lol arabs have really a bad image here. turks say most arabs are filty dirty uncivilized people
they eat their food with their bare hand though they got spoons and forks. and they clean up their hands to their clothes.
that one is rather common in turkey lol.
israel and turkey are really more friendly than arabic countries indeed. but some people here are not aware of it. lol
regards
I know that, I think I already said that I`ve been to Turkey before. I brought the movie as an example to the friendship between the countries.Originally posted by Night_Flight

i knew thatbut i wanted to emphasize it.
thank you![]()
Yea, i didn't see the midnight express, i might rent it out maybe...but there is a famous scene where he boards the plane and they start to arrest him and he has stuff on himself, that was from the simpsons. I thought it was orignally from Tunisia or Turkey? How odd!
If you want to go see a good movie, there is a movie called TRAFFIK, not Traffic with michael douglas, but a 70's cult film that is the same as the Traffic that was made not so longago. It is about the asian opium importers. It didn't really talk about US or anything but its simply was filmed in Drug areas like Iran-Iraq, Pakistan and Afganistan. Pretty good movie, its in english.... was made in 1990.
As for the movie, yea i think it is bull. I have been to Turkey and even at night in the city and i think its one of the most safest citys in the world. There is hardly crime and assaults. Its a very friendly tourist atmosphere that i really like.
The thing about Turkey is that they went to the middle east back in December and they wanted to be fair with Sharon and with Yasser Arafat, which kinda makes israelis think that Turkey is both sided here, eventhough there is the Arab think going on.
I wonder why Syria and Iraq supports Kurds. Afterall, when the time comes Kurdistan wil be made out of lands from Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran.....so whats the use of supporting them?
Also, about the murdering of 70 ambassadors? did they murder any in Canada? Cause i saw a lot of support for them in there? I remember in 1998 or 99, the PKK leader was kidnapped, the Kurds blamed everyone. Even the Israelis. They went to our embassy and threw **** at it..... hell with them!
Turkish population is nearly 70 million
kurdish population is nearly 11 million in turkey.
there are two types of kurds in turkey.
1-)kurds who integrated to turkish folk.. they support turks in all fields and those who support turks is majority of kurds.
2-)a minority of kurds support pkk and recently their own aim is to improve themselves as econamically. becouse they are mainly poor villager people. and they saw no point in supportin pkk after all there wasn't any considerable change in their lifestyle. supporting pkk brought them nothing but turkish hostilety.
thank god they are minority.
it may appear that a kurdish state will be established soon. But i assure all of my brothers there in israel that there wont be any land called kurdistan in turkish borders. Because one of the main turkish policies is to maintain turkish borders till the end. and Turks are determined about it. it looks like israel and it policies about palestenia.
By the way Mossad helped turkey in capturing pkk's leader. Turkish inteligent service (MIT) , CIA and Mossad worked together in that issue.
the one who assasinated 70 turkish ambassador over the world was not PKK. it was ASALA..
ASALA is an a r m e n i a n terrorist group. they say we took revenge from turks by killing 70 turkish ambassador. their point is that so called genocide against armenians.
as you see Turkey and israel are the most unwanted states in the middleeast. isnt it a naturel resultof being allies?

Actually Turkish policies in middleeast is to keep the stability. it may appear a both sided policie. but it should be justifable if those are considered:
-Turkish is a muslim country and palestenians are also muslim. religion is the decisive thing here. but it can be discussed how palestenians are also both sided. they were supporting greeks when the greeks cutting turks in southern cyprus.
-Jewish-Turkish historical ties. jews and turks were always good to eachother and supported eachother .and jews were the only minority who didnt backstabb turks in the ottoman empire.
-Ataturk's ideologies that says peace in the home, peace in the world.
these three may be a reason why turks have to be good to both jews and palestenians.
when the time comes kurdistan will be establised by iraq syria and turkey?
well. Pushtak,
Turkey wont give even a tiny mini land for kurds nor another minority. Ottoman empire has given the lands enough. dont you think so?
and your last paragraph. well i already said. it was ASALA the armenian terrorists.

Night_Flight,
I agree with all your points....
Israel and turkey have a very good relationship with one another. In the 3 would-be wars with Greece, israel always steeped in and helped Turkey with its miliary power by giving them ammo and planes, if needed.
I think that in honour of the jewish people, Turkey has created a museum in Istanbul regarding ottoman's empire jewish group, and they have pictures and artifacts and very intresting info about Jews who lived in Turkey since they were expelled from Spain in the late late 1400's. I would like to see it.
I agree that Turkey should be 2 sided in this conflict as well. Turkey is a good nation and it can play a vital role in the middle east. Time has change and there is hipe and opprotunity rising.![]()
I would like more firms and cooperation with Turkey in the coming years?what do you say?
Absouluteley right. i'd really really like to see Turkey and Israel closer and in a stronger alliance. That's needed for strenghten our historically ties and our common opportunities. You know Turkish army and israeli army are two of the most strongest armies in the world.
Ottoman jews still exist in istanbul, izmir,Ankara,Bursa,Hatay,Canakkale.
those jews are mainly sephardic but there are also aschkenaz jews whom the turkish embassies has given the turkish passport in order to rescue them from germans. Now they work as lecturers, journalists and artists in turkey. And everyone has recognized their success here.
Jews in Turkey have been living in turkish borders for 500 yrs and now They are turkish-jews.
afther the establish of israel most of them immigrated to israel.
they have two homelandone of them is turkey and othe is israel.
ah by the way there are also italian jews in turkey but i dont have sufficent information about them.
for a better turkish-israeli future
regards.
