It has to do with France's siding with Nazi Germany (enemy of the US) and being perceived as cowardly and lacking principles, French arrogance as perceived by many Americans, Francophiles' campaign against all things American, trade disputes between the US and France, Perceived French snobbery, and rudeness to many American tourists who visit France.
Believe me, I've also heard French commentary about the US, which shows an equal amount of disdain on a national basis. The average American is aware of this disdain.

The fact is that for many Americans it's just a matter that they don't care about these other counrties one way or the other. I know, difficult for some Europeans to accept, because it negates their illusions of grandeur.
If Europeans want to gain more interest of Americans, they need to urge their governments to act like civilized nations and not in embarrasingly biased ways, like in the case of the existing heavy pro-Arab bias for example.

we hate the US for global arrogance, rudeness in the way it treats many other countries, cowardly (only participate in a war when they know for sure a minimum of Americans will die, for this reason they prefere massive bombing of civilian populations) and lacking any principles, exept making money. Moreover the US bias in the benefit israel and other oppressing regimes makes the world angry.
About those tourists, they come here with busloads, are very load and fat and total lacking good manners, go to the local mc Donald's and don't speak a word of French, drink too much, but hey as long as they spend money nobody is complaining. It reminds me those Americans in Monterrey who go there to behave like a pig because in the states they can't drink before the age of 21... in fact there is more reseblance to us and SA... both resisted sex education in the un... both are hypocrit, i get to understand why the us and SA are allies for more than 70 years.
of course i want to mention that not all Americans are fitting in this definition, only about 75%.

I have no problems with that in particular, but than don't say your nation is suported by god. Man you are educated. Nazi was an Enemy of the US, after Pearl Harbor, after Belgian and French soldiers were already defeated and killed in an inhumane way. We were not cowardly, there were exceptions, but what would you do if Russian troops were marching next to the white house up to Capital Hill. Would you be so stupid to fight back? Ofcourse, we can not blame you Americans, because the only war you guys had on your soil was against your own people. WWI? When did US help. After 1917. WWII? They helped us after they were bombed themselves. That's history!
