This is an attempt to stir up stupid Christians (ones who already hate the Jews; like the ones in the EU -- Hitler did the same stuff with the same audience).Originally posted by L@mplighterM
The state-backed Egyptian newspaper, al-Ahram... Calling upon an ancient Church blood libel, in an attempt to stir up latent anti-Semitism among its readers, the Egyptian newspaper concludes, “Bush should know that in the past it was Jews who betrayed Christ, just as today it is they who slaughter the priests of his Church.?
As a Christian, I will state how I feel about the death of the Messiah (it is my opinion: I am not trying to press this as a general Christian opinion):
1) The Romans were the ones who drove the nails into the palms, wrists, and feet of a Jew. Not a single Jew laid hold of the hammers that drove in the nails and only sympathetic Jews (friends and family) were involved in his rushed burial.
2) The Romans bear partial responsiblity for any decisions to nail any person alive at that time to two planks of wood. The Sanhedron, who bear the second half of the responsibility, did not have the authority to kill anyone.
3) The Sanhedron (at that time) was a bunch of power-hungry, corrupt whores who just happened to be Jewish. Their proceedings were illegal (I am not an expert here, but a friend who is says so) and did not represent the opinions of the people.
To blame the Jews for the destruction of the Man I see as the Messiah is stupid. Those who believe the arguement are just as stupid.
I am embarrased that the people who claim to follow the Man who said to not be judgemental of others are being hypocritical of their own faith.
If one believes that He was the Messiah (again, my opinion), then one must believe He is the G-d of the Old Testament (e.i. the G-d of Moses, Joseph, Jacob, Issac, and Abraham) and that He said that the Jews were His chosen people. How can He change His mind like that?
When the judgement comes, I am sure He will hold accountable the perpetrators of His death (The Roman leadership and the members of the Sanhedron present when they handed over their judgement to the Romans) not their reletives, or neighbors.

Lamp: The Pals headed right for that Church to play what is called their "Christian Card". It is so predictable and so despicable. Where are are leaders to say OUTLOUD that they know this is just a "ploy" to set one group against another. Once you start this "cancer of Jew Hate" going again, you cant know where it leads and who it affects and which OTHER religions it brings in. I think personally that we are in the next Crusades. Thought as much the minute Kohmini (sp?) opened his rotton mouth.
I was watching a report on the news 2 days ago which stated that one key reason there is a situation with the Nazarene is because many Christian sects claim ownership of it and co habitate the enclave at the same time right now. Anyone leaving is afraid they would be giving up their claim to Jesus' birthplace and never be allowed back in. Simply put its the Christian factions themselves and their infighting which have made mess of this.
Not being well ecucated in the "Christians" of the Holylands, are they true Christians or merely those who bear the label? I have found, at least here in the US, that those who truly hold to the tenets of Christianity as set forth at its beginning are true friends to Israel. I have also found that there are many who call themselves Christian who use their religion to justify their bigotry, not just toward Jews, but toward anyone who doesn't believe like they do. A friend of mine who is a Christian from Tyre is very supportive of Israel and her poeple, but I don't know if he is typical.
