its the same all over the world. Lots of nice people, but the definition is what it is. Half are below average, and we all know what the average looks like in terms of ability to digest policy.

Call me selfish, but all I really want is a job that I like reasonably well, that pays reasonably well, and a chance (based on my own initiative, smarts and willingness to work) to succeed. MY G-D...you would think that in the USA that would not be such a big deal!! NO JOBS! NO HEALTH CARE!! And, with that, it means that I'm NOT SAFE!! I may as well get hit by a terrorist attack if I'm going to be homeless, or totally hopeless anyway! I would really love to care about other things more...but if you ever study Maslow's hierarchy you will understand. I think Bush has done nothing but talk about retraining for people who have been displaced due to outsourcing DIRECTLY, not tangentially, going to community college to get a certificate to be a health aid or something. I have a degree and working on an MBA...so how on earth is that going to help? At least Kerry acknowledges the problems and Krugman is one smart man (and the Economist Magizine staff are no slouches either) so that gives my family a chance. Oh, and as for Jews helping Jews...well...try that sometime and let me know how it works out for you? Cause, if you want to have people look at you like you're a red headed step-child just tell them you're a poor Jew that needs a job! Okay, I'm ranting...I realize that...but it's tough! Whoever wins better do something about this economy! Both Idiots!!! Americans are idiots for listening to either of their platitudinous hogwash!

"If you are not worried, I honestly don't understand what's wrong with you."

    - Tavis Smiley (this morning on Tom Joyner)

My state was second in the country in jobs lost. Second. And we went solidly Bush.

A vote for Kerry is a vote for Bin Laden, Arafat, Hezbollah and terrorism in general (not to metion a vote for Chirac and the French slug/snail eating slime).

Quite clearly the terrorists and their coaliton of extreme facist/leftist French/euro allies have expressed their desire for Kerry to win. So Americans have common sense and vote for Bush!

Republicans made gains in the legislature. I'm all for Bush's reelection, but a Republican Senate and Congress... that's scary.

Too F****ckin late to whine about it now, isn't it? As of now the US is a one party nation swinging further to the right than any other modern democracy in history. If/when Bush wins and carries those gains into the Senate and the House and the Supreme Court as expected you will see a nation

Each state increasingly raises taxes to make up for national 'tax cuts'
    A bottomless deficit
    An economy permanently stalled
    Another million jobs lost
An erosion of every subpart of the 1st Ammendment
An end to Roe v. Wade
Up to 4 radical right wing Supreme Court justices
    No plan to exit Iraq
A hundred billion dollars or more sunk into Iraq
An expansion of the 'war on terrorism' without end
A Consitutional redefinition of such things as marriage and citizenship

Basically what this election proves is that if you say you hate gays, hate abortion, hate taxes, you love the baby Jesus and you want to bomb the hell out of some random middle eastern countries then you can do whatever the hell else you want anywhere in the US or the world.

    Sleep tight America.

still cant believe that post 9-11 a majority of American Jews would vote for kerry (who tried to hide his Jewish origins) this party. This what I'm talking about (not to mention Kerry's step sons recent outburst):

    HOUSTON HAS A PROBLEM
    http://www.timblair.org

Today's weirdest election battle is in Houston, Texas, where sane Congressional incumbent Kevin Brady is facing disturbed Democrat James Wright:

Kevin Brady said his District 8 opponent Jim Wright's "crazy" Internet postings are a cause for concern, especially comments he described as anti-Israeli.

Throughout the campaign Wright, a New Caney Democrat, has taken down more and more of the controversial postings on his site.

In one removed link, Wright wrote, "There exists a group called JINSA (Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs) that controls the actions of (President George W.) Bush and the American congress [sic] in fear of their lives. This group is Jewish out of Israel and are one real causes [sic] of the Middle East problems."

The site also linked to articles such as "Wake up America: Your Government is Hijacked by Zionism" and "The Roots of the (Middle East) Conflict are Zionists, Not the Arabs."

Wright denied Friday claims that he was anti-Israel."

I still cant believe that post 9-11 a majority of American Jews would vote for kerry (who tried to hide his Jewish origins) this party.

No, not really. I'm an independent voter, and would really prefer moderate Republicans to Democrats anytime. A Republican President, i.e. Bush, and split Congress and Senate would work too. As for whining, if it's really gonna get bad, it'll change in the next election. As a matter of fact, I heard people say that Hitlery Clinton voted for Bush since it may help her presidential ambitions.

Let me ask you something seriously. Would you vote for an Australian candidate who was seriously poised to roll back your society a hundred years? Would you be able to tell the difference between that world and the world you're terrified the terrorists would deliver you.

By the way Republican Senator Jim Bunning is a certifiable delusional paranoid who claimed his opponent was a child of Saddam Hussein.

The Republican Senate winner in Oklahoma ran on one issue: there's rampant lesbianism in the high schools.

Both of them won. So what I don't understand is why Repubilcan aren't wearing aluminum hats and waiting for the damn mothership. What do you think?

I just did - his name is John Howard and he was re-elected a few weeks ago.

(I'm all for good old fashioned moral and family values. That what been Jewish is all about: ALL this values come from the Jewish tradition)

you say roll back your society a hundred years? No lets take a HUGE leap forward and understand the root causes of terrorism - thats the modern progressive thinking of today.

Let me see in the USA you have: One candidate who "flip flops" on all issues including Iraq. He hides his Jewish origins and has a step son who mimics Pat Buchanan, talking about a scheming "Israel-lobby." His predecessor Clinton was one of those primarly responsible for the Oslo blunder. When it was clear that Arafat was behind the voilence in 2000, Clinton did not come out to condemn this terrorist.

Now we have another candidate: who has been the strongest supporter of Israel in American history. Has a cabinet made up of the strongest Israel supporters in history: Cheney, Wolfovitz, Pearl, Rice. Who recently passed an
antisemitism bill and made Arafat irrelevant and condemmed him.

You see its no suprise that the majority of Arab Americans have turned against
Bush, yet quite a suprise and a quite a shame that you and a large number of your fellow American Jews joined them.

The Jews are the only ethnic/religious group in America who dont vote or work in their own interests. It seems that even if they are spat at and walked all over...they are still stubbornly loyal. Been Jewish is naturually about making a statement - "we have to support the guy who is the most liberal and chich...you know the guy that supports abortion and gay marriages...we are all for it...its more important than the fact that the guy is a real flip flopper who is most likely to walk over us and Israel. Gay marriages and abortions are much more important and more meaningful to the stability of life and rocking it into the 21st century!"

    Stupid Jews.

Would you be able to tell the difference between that world and the world you're terrified the terrorists would deliver you.
only if Bush were to propose that everyone should be forced to convert to his religion (and if not face sudden death), placing fatwas on those who disagree with him, pass legislation making female gential mutiliation law, condone honor killings and basically turn America into a taliban state than no I wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

But if thats what you are suggesting then you are starting to sound delusional like the occassional trolls who come on here.

I was not suprised to learn that the majority of American Jews of Soviet backgrounds are voting for Bush.

No suprise because I myself am a Jew from the former soviet union. They vote conservative because they lived under socialist tyranny and experienced real antisemitism and were not spoon fed like their moderan, liberal American and Australian counterparts who are too pre-occuppied and desilllusional.
