Please Help Keep Jerusalem United

As I write there is a deathwatch being conducted by the media as the condition of Yasser Arafat worsens. I’m told the President of France rushed to his bedside (one wonders if he would do the same for a Mao, Stalin, Mugabe, or some other murderer of innocents). But his action is indicative of the lack of values of the secularists. They do not distinguish between good and evil – they’ve even bastardized the language by calling terrorists “militants” or “extremists,” when we all know that someone who slits the throat of an innocent is a terrorist or worse.

In Britain, the day after the momentous U.S. Election, Prime Minister Blair called his number one priority bringing to a conclusion a peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. It doesn’t seem to bother Blair that there are no peace seekers representing Israel’s enemies. This European lack of moral clarity extends to Blair when it comes to Israel. He does not see that Arafat and his cronies don’t care about peace -- they want to destroy the people of Israel. He treats civilized Israel as if it is the moral equivalent of the terrorists in the Palestinian Authority.

Make no mistake about it; Blair’s initiative puts Jerusalem on the trading block. Israel’s enemies will continue to insist that Jerusalem be given to them. They spin tales about how they have the rights of ownership. In fact, as Dr. Daniel Pipes and others have shown, Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Koran and throughout history Jerusalem only becomes important to the Islamic world when it has political value in their war against Western Civilization.

The American people see through this charade. By better than two to one voters in the United States said that the enemies of Israel want Jerusalem not as part of a peace pact but as part of their strategy to destroy the Jewish State.

Needless to say we must redouble our efforts in defense of a united Jerusalem. We must prepare for the upcoming battle that will most certainly be engaged when Arafat leaves the scene.

You can help us keep our multi faceted campaign to keep Jerusalem open, free and united by making a donation at this time.

Two examples of the international impact One Jerusalem is having are the publications of two books destined for the New York Times bestseller list – though you can be sure the Times disagrees with the pro-American, pro-Israel arguments in the brand new books by our Chairman Natan Sharansky and our founder Dore Gold.

In The Case for Democracy, Minister Sharansky explains how the yearning for freedom kept him going during his years as a prisoner in the Soviet Union and how important it is for the United States to continue leading the campaign to democratize the world. Sharansky’s position is in line with President Bush’s, which the President reiterated in his news conference after the recent election.

You can get a personally autographed copy of Natan Sharansky’s The Case for Democracy and help One Jerusalem for a donation of $75. (The cost beyond the price of the book would be a tax-deductible contribution. This book is destined to be at the heart of the foreign policy debates at home and abroad.)

Our response to the adage that bad news comes in three is that good news comes in twos.

We are also fortunate to be able to offer to contributors Dore Gold’s searing indictment of the United Nations – Tower of Babble. Ambassador Gold exposes the anti-Israel, anti-American and corrupt practices of the United Nations under the leadership of Koffi Annan. Tragically tens of thousands of innocents in Africa and other parts of the world have died and suffered because the UN has failed to stand up to tyranny.

For a donation of $50 you can get a signed copy of Tower of Babble (a book that will be much talked about in policy circles around the world).

You can be in the forefront of reading these new books (you can purchase both signed first edition copies for $115)

I want to thank all of you for your past and continued support. Together we will save Jerusalem from its enemies.

Allen Roth, President

One Jerusalem

PS Both Sharansky and Gold will be crisscrossing America appearing on talk shows, making speeches, and meeting with high government officials in the coming months. While their books will be the central focus of these activities they will be doing One Jerusalem events as well.
