Hey all-
I'm going to Israel for a few months soon. I'll be living in Jerusalem; does anyone know what the average cost of living is per month there? Any estimate or ballpark figure would do.
Thanks!

you didn't specify choice of residence (guest with someone? renting? hotel?) so I can say that rent in a good Jerusalem suburb close by to the city center of 1 bedroom will be ~$400-500 monthly. as usual, the farther you go from the city center, the cheaper it gets.
monthly cost incl food (assuming mostly eating outside), transportation (assuming you will travel all over the country), some shopping and culture/entertainment will amount to 2000-3000 shekels = $450-650. if you will buy in a supermarket and prepare most of the food yourself, you can expect to save a little.
enjoy!
cost of living is almost the same everywhere in the long run...
LOL The cost of living in the long run is death
Anyway, all kidding aside, I sure could not live on that little in the Atlanta area. Israel is looking better and better all the time![]()
Living costs are also reflective of the size of the space. In Israel living spaces are quite a bit much smaller than here. If you wanted to replicate a typical 2600 sq ft. house it would cost quite a bit.
I'm going to be living at a merkaz kelitah for 30$/month with a budget of 278$ per week. It sounds like I will have enough.
