The Christian New TestamentWhat is N.T?
What do you mean?what would have happened to Jews if Jews openly came out against Jesus?
It depends what you're talking about and where in the world?

See...if you had known something about Judaism or the Jewish teachings you would not have asked me that question. The very name of N.T. suggests certain things. Look, I live in a predominantly Christian land with a Christian culture. This country has been very good to Jews. I love it. We have striking theological differences but it does not matter as we are all Americans.Originally Posted by Luke90

Our rebbes read the book in its original language. They don't need anyone to interprete the book for them.
The question I asked you was do you agree with that website's assesment that the New Testament is anti-semitic.
It's a simple question and you haven't answered it.
You either believe that it is or it isn't. I suppose you could argue that the original wasn't but the modern translation is. Is that what you're trying to say.
I certainly admit that I don't have much knowledge of Judaism which is why I ask questions. Obviously you aren't obliged to answer any of my questions but if you do want to I'll be intersted.
Dear Lord, save me from your followers. That kind of thing.
Well...there is no easy way. You don't know anything about Judaism. Therefore, my answer to you would be meaningless.Originally Posted by Luke90
It was basically a yes or no question.
I may not understand the reasons for you answering the way you do, but I'm still interested to see what your answer is.
Dear Lord , save me from Thou.
Jews don't accept the NT. The very name and the premise of the NT is not acknowledged by Jews.Originally Posted by Luke90

But most of all, why do you trust some crackpot web site's claim that NT is anti-Semitic? Why not read it, and study it, and see what it says for yourself so that you'll have an idea of what you are talking about?
Jews who accept Yoshke abdicate all their rights as Jews. They cannot be burried among Jews, make aliyah, etc. They are the outcasts of the Jewish community who eventually totally disappear.Originally Posted by KettleWhistle
Luke cannot read the Hebrew language. Therefore, he will have to rely on some bogus translation of the bible (the Torah).
Sorry, dude, but you're off on this one. Anyone with Jewish parents is a Jew. Atheist Jews don't follow Judaism, and they can make aliah and be buried among other Jews. It is a matter of descent, not religion.Originally Posted by Toga
As for "Yoshke," do you even know what his teachings are? Do you know that at least 99% of what he said does not contradict Torah in any way? And Luke was asking about NT, the Christian Scripture, and not the Tanah.

I know Jews don't accept the NT but what I was asking was a very simple question.Jews don't accept the NT. The very name and the premise of the NT is not acknowledged by Jews.
Do you or do you not think that the NT is anti-semitic?
Yes or No?
Just to clarify, I'm not asking whether you think it fits in with Judaism which seems to be the question you answered.
I meant do you consider it anti-semitic as in the normal meaning of the words and the meaning implied by JewsforJudaism.org in their FAQ?
