    A few photos from Israel

    Hi All ,

I'm a newcomer at this forum.

I live near Haifa, I came to Israel in 1999 from Russia.

I'd like to share with you a few photos, actually this is my hobby. Unfortunally (? ) you can't find any politics there, I don't like to make photos of people, I prefer landscapes, animals, nature etc. but I hope that this post is not off-topic here because these images are from Israel.

Nice pics! I like the artistic style of the first two and the panorama shot of Haifa is nice.

The most beautiful thing in Haifa though are the Baha'i gardens on Mt. Carmel. The symmetry is striking!

Thanks, Peter! Those are very nice pictures! But what's even more solemn are the Baha'i gardens near Acre!

But then again, Israel is full of beautiful places and what's really nice that Israel is so diverse in its land scape that it has everything to offer. Now all we need here is somebody saying "It's not Israel, it's Palestine, which you stole!".

    Very appreciated

I was at the Baha'i gardens near Acre and I have a few pictures from this place but I can't say that these are "masterpieces" . The weather wasn't very good (I mean that it was too sunny) and I didn't get any really good image, only something like that:

Following macros were done at Bahai's garden near Acco as well:

Oh my. Your panoramic of Haifa was lovely. With a jolt, I realized it's been 12 years since I've been there. Well, my daughter moved to Usha so I guess I'd better get up there soon!

    Thanks.

Well, Haifa looks VERY differently. The downtown, its old part is really terrible, but sometimes you can find nice places and views there

Its hard to say, IMHO. I guess that not all "old" Haifa is so nice like "Moshava germanit"

Regarding the panoramic views: I have a few my favorite ones in addition to the Haifa's view shown above:

    Hi Peter,

Living in Haifa, I can tell you that your wide angle shot on the city is breath taking.

I suggest that you also post some pictures of particular significance to our ancient heritage, pictures through which the members and viewing guests of this forum can link to our Biblical heritage.

For example, in Haifa are the Carmel Mountains where Elijah confronted the Israelites over their deviation from God. In the area, there is a place for visitors known as the "Cave of Elijah the Prophet". The event was related in the Tanach, and here is a little excerpt:

    KINGS I (18:21):

Elijah approached all the people of Israel and said, "How long will you dance between two opinions?
If HaShem is the God, go after Him! And if the Baal, go after it!"

And, you might also post a picture of the tomb of Jeremiah the Prophet.
His prophecy is relevant for the diaspora Jews of today:

    Jeremiah (16:14)

However, behold --- days are coming --- the word of HaShem --- when it will no longer be said, 'As HaShem lives, Who took out the Children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' but rather, 'As HaShem lives, Who took out the Children of Israel from the land of the North and from all the lands where He had scattered them'; and I shall return them to their land, which I gave to their forefathers."

very nice pics, peter. you should try taking a pic of haifa from kiryat haim on the beach. you could see all of haifa on mount carmel. beautiful site, especially at night! got any pics of eilat?

i saw a documentary about a group of palestinian arabs going for a tour of israel. it's amazing how the tour guide, who is arab, was saying all the time as they were driving by the scenery this is our homeland, this is what we left behind. LOL! yes, they're that self obsessed, thinking that everything was once their land. of course, most of the people on the tour couldn't even trace any of the places they visited to their ancestries. they just want it because it looks nice and because they were brainwashed by people like arafat that everything belongs them. while they were driving around tel aviv, one tourist said "look at what the jews created, they started out with a state of only few kilometers of desert land and now look what they have." with a beautiful country like israel it's no wonder the arabs want it all.

I love Gamla. And your pictures. Brings back memories. I hope Syria does not get Gamla back.
