Wow these Europeans really know how to raise their kids well Womble. I think the Algerians do a better job; and so do the Egyptians by the way. I have excellent manners, though I am not from Europe.

Love it how Fredo and the French (most of them antisemites) love to distort FACTS. You have a French member of the French team who insults Israel by saying that he does not like the way Israel treats the Palestinians and then you have Fredo and his countrymen lying by pretending "nothing happened" to provoke Israelis.

When the Israelis arrived in France not one from Israel insulted France. They were right to boo.
    HYPOCRITE.
You know as well as anybody here that the whistles has more to do with French-Israeli relations than what Barthez said. Barthez got booed for what he said during the match and i can understand this reaction because i disaprove what he said about Israel , it wasn't clever at all , and he spoke without knowing the real facts...
But still, when you want to show somebody that he is wrong and that he completely misjudged you , you don't act like Israeli football fans did.
to represent him in a photo as a nazi is completely exagerated and shameful ,they'd better keep this insult for real nazi people. As far as i know he said nothing hateful about Jewish people like a nazi would say...
What they should have done is to show him who the real Israelis are and not give the picture of a bunch of average hooligans...

But well... they wanted to increased the hatred between both countries...
    they managed to achieve it...

And when was that ? I only ask to believe you but you must provide a prove.
    I watch the match France-Israel , and i don't remember about such a thing.
i have a glance quite often at Israeli newspapers and i don't remember they said anything about it (at least their English version ). But well , i don't say i have the absolute truth , i can be wrong and i could have missed it , so enlight me.

We are not less civilised than the Ashkenazis. I behave the same way as an Egyptian Moslem or Christian. I find your comment racist and haughty. I am not ashamed of being an "Arab" Sephardic Jew. You think you are civilised because you come from Europe?
No, I think you are way too fast in jumping to silly conlcusions. Have you ever heard me here saying that the Sephardic Jews are less civilized than the Ashkenazim? For crying out loud, I am arguing the reverse in one of the threads out there.
Now, if you were a bit smarter and did your own search, or at least asked me what I meant when I talked about the Algerians, I would probably show you this:

The threat to disrupt the national anthem brought back bad memories of a soccer game in the winter of 2001 at the beautiful Parc des Princes stadium in Paris. Pundits believed that game, the first time a French team went up against an Algerian team, played an important role in triggering Islamic extremism in France. Millions of French television viewers could not believe their eyes when their fellow citizens of the Muslim faith began booing when their adopted country's anthem was played. The booing returned when the French scored a goal.

Mostly exact ,and this demonstrate to the present French politic Leaders assisting to the match , how the Algerian community appreciated their country , which in fact never be their country.
Marseillaise or not is not so important , because in a while we have to find a new EU Anthem ,for the whole bright and brillant 25 countries ,and maybe for more, and it's not so sport to consider Soccer meetting as war .

Why are you so surprised, Fredo?

We keep on seeing ourselves villified in France over and over; Le Monde runs a story about how Israeli soldiers deliberately kill Palestinian infants*, we get hyperbole on how Israel's actions are far worse than anything France did in Algeria**. We see anti-semetic attacks rising. We see Chirac welcoming our enemies (e.g. Hizbullah) at what seems like every opportunity. We see France leading the hard line against Israel in the EU. The French ambassador to the UK describes us as a ty little country. We get a self-rightous lecture from the French ambassador to Israel on how we all have an anti-French neurosis. Then, to top it all, there's the goalie's remarks.

All of this is besides the bad blood which has been piling up since de-Gaulle decided to prefer the Arabs over Israel in the 60s.

Now, I don't know. Maybe Europeans would ignore all this, sweeping it under the veneer of sportmanship. Israelis, however, are a lot more...extroverted; we express what we feel, rather than burying it under a facade.

*This was published the first year of the intifada. I don't remember the author's name; Danielle something.
**Given what France did do in Algeria, I wonder what those accusers think is actually going on here.

Ah, that's a shame. Expect more of this as France transforms itself into the world's newest caliphate.

    Hello Semsem,

It was nice to read you; it reminded me of the european pre and last-worldwar trash press.

And very disrespectful policies and general attitude that support anti-Semitic sentiment, Arab occupation of our native land, double-standards towards Israel, and people who kill Jews that live in Israel. There is no shame in being sincere and expressing the disgust with your country and its policies towards Jews.

It's clear : France it's in majority an Anti-Semite country..
Chirac who married a woman whith an immense fortune ( De Courcel) ,this family would not let enter a Jew even in his garden.
Considering Barhez ,is only a soccer player , and he can't break for legs to a chicken or a duck...

You are comparing apples with grapes. The Algerians live in France. The Israelis don't live in that uncivilised country.
