i think it is the type of thing that should be brought to the attention of some people...
like, i've seen people on tv and in real life who seem to feel israel is the epitomy of evil...
palestinians would die to kill jewish women and children in israel, and many seem to think it is a righteous act due just how evil and provacative the state of israel is as nation. it should be brought to the attention, that there some things that the modern state of israel would not do, such as kill the family members of suicide bombers, even though it might help deter it.
it should be brought to world attention that israe could be much, much harsher with the palestinians than they are.
Did anyone care to ask until now what makes Mr. Lewin an expert on such matters? To quote the "Forward" article, "Lewin argued that the biblical injunction to destroy the ancient tribe of Amalek serves as a precedent in Judaism for taking measures that are "ordinarily unacceptable" in the face of a mortal threat." Maybe he is an expert in Judaism, fine with me, but why doesn't he bother to take a closer look at the Palestinians and their strategy?

If Israel were to begin executing entire families simply because one of their members attacks Israel, the implications would be astounding. It's a small step from killing families to setting up extermination camps and herding the "evil" Palestinian civilians through them. If you're behind such a measure, you might want to have both your head and your priorities examined.
If this were actually implemented, you might as well just slap a small, black-bar style moustache on each Israeli leader and start saying Heil!

Palestinain "terrorists" are killing innocent people -- and that is a terrible thing. However, you're simply diverting attention away from the idea of a recognized state forcefully executing entire families. Palestinain terrorists are no excuse to engage in genocide.

Palestinian family's would be excused from any harm if they simply condemed the acts their family member did, and reject any compensation for the loss of their family member.

So, are you saying that Palestinian groups like Arafat's people, Hamas, Hizbullah and Islamic Jihad, etc. are equivalent to Nazis?

Sure, I read that. But so what? What if a family does not agree with Israel and believes that their family member did good? Does that entitle them all to death? If so, then just stop mincing words and go for broke: kill everyone that disagrees with the occupation.

And, yes, suicide bombing of people that have nothing to do with the occupation other than being in the country that supports it is also genocide. So, both actions are obviously counterproductive and disgustingly terrible. Both sides are murderers. Both sides are locked in a struggle that will not be solved through more and more violence.
Why not try to improve the lives of the Palestinians? Why not give them a state? Why not? Israel could make peace with the masses of the Palestinians, if they wanted to. Just face it that Israel is too arrogant to be gracious and give the Palestinian civilians hope and peace -- most of which have nothing to do with the conflict. Just keep on bulldozing houses and restricting their movement. Keep on oppressing them. Keep on enjoying your suicide attacks -- attacks that you will never stop until you make peace with the Palestinian civilians. Only then will the militants be marginalized. Israel is bringing this on itself, just as the militants are bringing suffering to the Palestinians.
