The treachery of the Labor Party! Is Sharon a sucker?

Is the Labor party a party of snakes? It appaears to be so. They could never give away the Jewish land of Gaza to the enemies. They would not have had enough votes in the Knesset. So, they used Sharon/Likud for that purpose and will leave the government as soon as they can.

    Snakes!

Was Sharon stupid not to see what was coming?

    Arik is a sucker!

It was the other way around Toga ... Sharon used them .
The deal was that they would leave the government as soon as disengagement was over .... Sharon is many things ... but he is not stupid
Now we wait to see what he will do next.... form a new central party (which I will definitely vote for ) ..or.. stay with Likud and fight Bibi from within .
    Interesting times

    Hi Toga,

Well, I remember one of my teachers in Jr. High, who remarked in history class something which might give some insight into what is happening here in Israel:

"The people were the slaves of Caesar, and Caesar of circumstances".

Sharon and Netanyahu split and now Likkud shall lose it, Peres shall win the election and Israel will be better, Likkud's out and Lobor's in and all will be better.

    Surprising posts!

The Labor party is certainly bad news, but how is Sharon better? He didn't give away Gaza to get security or peace. He did it so the Labor party would call off the criminal investigation against him...only they can't be trusted and will probably pursue it again as soon as he's done their bidding. This is not the Sharon the people were told they were voting for.

Almost nobody in Israel was in favor of the withdrawal. Sharon accomplished it by strong arm tactics, sweeping aside all opposition. Meanwhile Bibi pretended to be against the whole thing but, instead of helping the Knesset opponents of the plan following his resignation, he flew off the the States to raise funds for his personal bid for Likud leadership (as he did years ago when the Likud was getting clobbered by Labor). But at least he can claim he wasn't part of the withdrawal fiasco...

Does anyone really think that Israel will benefit from the creation of an unhindered terrorist stronghold (watched by whom...Palestinian and Egyptian security)?

And did somebody mention Peres?? Labor?!? Have you forgotten that Barak tried to give the whole country to arch-terrorist Yasir? If Labor were in power we'd all be swimming for the States.

Let's not be so naive...please. Things are not looking good.

Way to take down your credibility.

Almost every Israeli was in favor of the withdrawal.

I believe a seperate palestinian state, living side by side with Israel, would diffuse a lot of tensions in the Mid East region, and finally usher in an era of peace, and co-operation among the Muslims and Jews.

Muslims and Jews have old historical links, that date back to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

If you seriously want an answer to that I suggest you look into the demographic evolution of non-muslim population in predominantly muslim countries (or those which like Lebanon became predominantly muslim a short time ago). The non-muslims vote massively with their legs against the possibility of such coexistance.

Very simple actually: the two are different peoples with different national ambitions, aspirations, and cultures.

You don't see it because you are not surrounded by those who want you dead. One state will produce the destruction of the Jewish Israel and creation of another Arab state.

    1. Take a look at the Arab world. Despite the riches it is tyrannical, poor, corrupt and backward, etc.

    2. The Jews were miserable when they lived under the Arab regimes.

    3. After expelling the Jews the Arab state organized a number of military campaigns against Israel to kill all Jews.

    4. The Arab states are still obsessed with a tiny Jewish democracy on 0.1% of the Middle Eastern landmass while they occupy 99.9% of the land.
