Cold war politics can only explain the minority of the cases. According to such and argument, any other Nazi is a western spy. This is coherent with Communist dialectic propaganda, that every non-communist is a war loving facist, but it was never the Truth.

The truth is always the simplests of explainations. Thesame lawers, judges and other functioners who worked under the Nazi ragime, continued their role in the decades that followed the war. The same Nazis, were supposed to judge other Nazi crimminals. Extradiction was not an option, same goes to snaching operations, which are violation of German and Austrian sovereignity.

Bottom line, Germans and Austrians are Nazis and the let most of the Nazis go free. Justice was not met.

Don't warry in Poland the Nazis were dealt with pretty harshly. The Poles had some very considerable grudges against the Germans. The Poles cleansed most of the Germans from Poland - over 4-5 million people. In fact the cruelty of the Poles agains the German POWs was such that even the Soviet army was complaining that it was actually interfering with intelligence efforts.

I am not talking about germans in poland's case but about polish colloborators, and there were plenty of them.

Most of the Polish NKVD units right post WWII were in large part filled with Jews. (later the Poles used that excuse to ethnically cleanse all the remaining Jews from Poland post 6-day war). In fact many commanders of German POW camps in Poland were Jews - for Soviets it ensured revenge and revenge Germans got. I think Poland is trying to extradite some Auzwitz survivor from Israel on charges of being a little too cruel to poor Germans..... what a bunch of baloney!!!!!

On another forum I go to we had a lively discussion with some Poles on this exact topic. They were trying to somehow prove to me that apparently Jews were cleansed from Poland by Communists and not by Poles - without really explaining the difference.

But yes, the Poles killed quite a few Jews and still don't admit it. The pogroms during and after the war were enourmous. The Poles also use the testimony of Marek Edelman (one of the few remaining Jews of Poland and the hero of the Ghetto uprising) to prove that apparently the Armia Krawojva and the Poles in general could not do anything to help the poor Jews in the Ghetto and especially during the uprising. Basically a load of CRA******
