    Iranian student apologizes to Israel

Young Iranian woman studying in Budapest sends apology letter to Israeli embassy following Iranian president's call to wipe Israel off map

    Itamar Eichner

    From news article:

It seems that not all Iranians are against Israel. Workers at the Israeli embassy in Budapest, Hungary, were surprised to receive an apology letter from a female Iranian student, referring to the remark of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that "Israel should be wiped off the map," Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

"I feel so ashamed and I am sure that many Iranians share my feelings," the Iranian wrote in a letter sent by e-mail to the embassy, under the title "We are very very sorry."

The 29-year-old Iranian woman, who is currently studying in a Budapest university, wrote to the embassy that the reason she was sending the e-mail were the words of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding Israel.

She added that she was ashamed of the incident, as were many other Iranians.

The student ended her letter with the hope that one day Israelis and Iranians could live together in peace again.

Yahel Vilan, deputy to the Israeli ambassador to Hungary, immediately thanked the student for her moving words.

I find taht news more comforting that the Palestinian Negotiator condemned it because her letter reflects the feelings of most Iranians, like the boycott of Jerusalem Day.

She must be referring to the students that she study with

Also I trust there is a significant number of people in Iran that do not share the same of these adherents of president of Iran

And simply cannot go public I can not blame them

We can guess what sort of treatment of these who oppose get

We all know that most Iranians are in fact our friends. This sentence - coming from our own media is shocking. There are a lot of Israelis and a lot of diaspora Jews who don't know s.h.i.t about our history and relations to the various tribes and/or fellow indigenous people in the middle east suffering from Arab and Islamic occupation. Education and historical awareness is going downhill indeed .

There are alot of people in alot of countries who do not see Israel as their enemy.

They get their information about Israel through third sources such as Arabs and the same goes to Isreal that they get alot of their information about other countries through third sources.

People to people contact must be established between Israel and other such countries to promote first hand information about each other's countries.

Pakistan and Israel are working just on that. Remove travel restrictions. That will eradicated alot of misconceptions and misunderstandings among the two countries' people towards each others countries.

I am serious. I didnt know anything about Israel except the negative propaganda that I read or heard through third sources untill I met some jewish people such as Michael Miller who is a mediator at Aylesworth LLP and other jewish lawyers. They gave me the first hand insight about Israel and Israelis.

I as a Chartered Accountant have to meet them repeatedly on behalf of my firm. At first it was just business relationship and both sides were extremely reserved. With time, we started engaging ourselves a little more openly.

Infact, they didnt know anything about Pakistan. Just some country. Lol.

These poll results showing that Pakistan is anti Pakistan. Stop a Pakistani on the street and ask him why does he dislike Israel. I am betting you $100. he will not know why. Just the stupid propaganda taught to him by the third sources such as Arabs.

There are alot of misconceptions and misunderstandings that reside at both sides. This can only be eradicated when there will be people to people contacts.
