First Gaza, than Tel Aviv - Jaffa

Palestinians Call for a Return to Jaffa
    12:45 Jan 18, '06 / 18 Tevet 5766

(IsraelNN.com) This week, a show on Palestinian Educational TV called for an Arab “return” to Jaffa, Akko, Caesarea, Ashdod and Ashkelon.

The program, which was about Jaffa and its Palestinian connection, concluded with the following words of a song by poet Muhammad Darwish: “The time has come for you [the Israelis] to leave. Live wherever you want, but just don’t live among us. The time has come for you to leave. Die wherever you want, but don’t die among us. We have the past here, and we have the present, the present and the future. Leave our land, our continent, our sea, our wheat, our salt, our wound. Everything! Leave our memory behind.”

Is this supposed to surprise us?

If we have no right to places like Gaza, Hebron, Bet-El, Jerusalem (all of it) in which we have an established historical/biblical connections, then why do we have a right to Tel-Aviv as well as many of the other coastal cities, which were only built a century ago and we have no historical/biblical connection with?

The left, living in their expensive apartments or houses in Tel-Aviv, like to call those of us living in Judea and Samaria "settlers" and occuse us of "occupation", but before Israel was founded, Yafo was an all Arab town and the biggest in Eretz Yisrael....After the War of Independence, tens of thousands of Arabs fleed from Yafo and it became "annexed" by Tel-Aviv....

I suggest that some of the self-proclaimed holier than thou leftists wander into Yafo one day and talk to some of the Arabs who are still there and ask them how they feel about Yafo being "annexed" by Israel and having their street names changed from Arabic names to Hebrew ones....Ask them if they consider Yafo to be "occupied" and see what they have to say about that?

What's good for the goose isn't always good for the gander....

Do the Arabs want all of the land? Yes.

Does that mean holding on to as much land as possible will prevent them from "reclaiming" all of the land? No.

That's why instead of transfering Jews, we should be transfering our enemies....It is us or them; not a pretty fact, but a fact nonetheless....
