    how israel should handle pr

i think it's funny that israel should be losing the public relations war in this intifada.

if someone doesn't believe that israel should exist as a jewish state, that's 1 thing, but if someone thinks that at the start of of the intifada, both sides were morally equall, then there's no way anyone should be looking at the situation as if israel is being immoral, or even that both sides are equally being unreasonable.
it is the palestinians who have decided to wage all out war against israel.
the palestinians, or at least their militants, are killing israeli civilians. they're going into israel for the sole purpose of killing jews. their motives are pure evil, killing someone who they do not know, to terrorize, to avenge...

the fact that more palestinians have been killed since the start of the uprising is what is causing leftists and arab sympathisers to condmen israel, to call israel evil and ruthless...
when in reality israel SINCERELY wants all the violence to end, they want to get on with their daily lives...
when the palestinians obviously aren't looking for peace at this point, all the poles show it.

i think the leader of israel should take this approach. he should address the world, and say something like:
"look, i'm sorry that since the start of the intifada, so many innocent jews and arabs have been killed. at this moment, israeli troops aren't inside any palestinian towns, and we don't want out troops to hurt anyone. please listen to me all palestinians; there is no reason to go into israel and kill civlians. im sorry things are so hard for you right now, and if you can stop the violence, and encourage your brothers to stop the violence, then the leaders of both people can come togather and try to work out a peace to which suits both of our people."

i think then, what will most likely happen is that the palestinians will continue the attacks.
at this point, the leader of israel should address the world, and say something like:
"look, today 20 of our civilians were killed, for no reason. we have lost 20 of our brothers and sisters today. please, palestinians, please stop these attacks, let us try and work out a peace between us."

then i guess after the next attack, the leader of israel should address the world and say something like:

"look, today we again lost many of our brothers and sisters. i have seen the grief felt by the families, this violence helps nobody, please, for the love of g-d, please stop these attacks.

after the next attack, the leader of israel should address the world and say something like:
"look, our pleas to the palestinians are not being listend to. israel cannot go on day after with our pleas for peace being unanswered. we didnt want it to have to come to this, but if there is another attack on the jews in israel, we will have no choice but to go on all out war with the palestinians. many will be killed, but we feel we cannot let the palestinians attack our civilans at their will. we tried to be nice, we tried to be reasonable, but please, listen hear us world, if there is 1 more attack on israel, we will do everything in our power to protect our people. it won't be pretty, but were not going to let them kill us off 15 at a time till we all are dead."

after the next attack, israel should attack the palestinians using as much force as they see fit, even more force than before.

i think israel really has to spell it out. i think they should be overlly friednly to the media, and explain what they are feeling, give the palestinians several pleas, and then warnings, and explain to the media why they would retaliate when they retaliate.

maybe at least at that point, news anchors wont speak as if they are at a higher moral standing point when they talk about the situation as if it is purely tit-for-tat.
when people will protest against israel, at least it will be clear that they're advocating for the very destruction of israel, and they're not just protesting because they dont like israel's policies.

    another suggestion

I love your solution. The problem is that after the first attack with no response, the Israeli public will go wild. My suggestion for Israeli PR is just to oversimplify the story in terms that the news can air in 10 second segments. Currently, the story is too long and drawn out---viewers lose interest and don't care enough to learn how to defend the israeli viewpoint. I believe Israel needs to pullout from Gaza, then the Palestinians can no longer blame the Israeli occupation for their attacks. If the attacks continue, the Palestinian agenda will be exposed for what it truly is: GET RID OF ISRAEL AT ANY COST.

Well said. We live in a world of sound bites. Keeping it simple and straight forward maintains a small target area for the critics and leave no question about where you stand.

    jewballer223:

How did you come up with your name?

Why will it take an Israeli pullout from Gaza to finally expose the true ARAB agenda of "GET RID OF ISRAEL AT ANY COST"?????????

The Arabs view the whole State of Israel as "Israeli occupation" of Arab lands and as justification for their attacks, whether Israel pulls out of Gaza or not.

There are only two groups of people who can truly defend the Israeli interests.

The first group is the Israelis who must stop their craving for world acceptance, and the resulting tragic sacrificing of their Jewish and Zionist agenda on the altar for a "paper peace".

The second group is the diaspora Jews who must show solidarity with their Jewish Homeland through mass immigration and truly claiming the land by actually living here.

If the Jews and Israelis don't demonstrate that respect for themselves and commitment to their own cause, then I don't expect the world to defend our interests for us,-
whether under attack or not by these Arab regimes and their puppets like the "Palestinians".

The Jews are their own worst enemy.

First I'll answer the simple question- I play basketball on the high school team, and one day one of my friends just started calling me jewballer, cause im both jewish and a baller. then the numbers were random cause someone else already had the name jewballer.

Now for the more difficult part. Like I said, im in high school and at night i go to hebrew high and occasionally we have guest speakers. One speaker from the israeli consulate in los angeles basically said what i said earlier, about how pulling out of gaza will make the palestinians assume more control. Currently, the palestians can point the finger at the israeli presence, saying how the IDF prevents them from carrying out their duties. The IDF presence in Gaza also allows for Palestinians to unite a common enemy- the visible armed presence serves as a daily reminder to why they live impovershed lives (at least thats what many think). Gaza seems to be a large trial to me. If the pullout leads to increased peace and more talks between Israel and the PA, then it appears as if the trial has led to peace (or at least a step in the right direction). If rockets are launched from Gaza at kibbutzim and lead to israeli deaths, the trial has obviously not worked. However, the palestinian excuse of killing israelis because they occupy gaza no longer holds worth, because israel wont be occupying gaza.

This would be a momentous occasion and gain much international attention-all eyes and ears will be on the israeli situation. This is israel's chance to seize the international media, and outline the possible outcomes of their withdrawal. They can lay out the situation simply such that news channels can simply relay the message. If the attacks continue, the PA is not a suitable partner for peace and israel will be justified in reentering gaza to protect israeli lives. If a period of relative peace occurs, then happiness ensues.

Also, is purely an ideological issue for israelis. There are roughly 12,000 settlers, to about 1.2 billion palestinians. That is 100,000 palestinians per israeli. Also, if gaza remains under israeli control, within about 20 years it will come up again. If all palestinians in gaza and the west bank are given full citizenship and the right to vote jews will no longer be the majority in israel. Israel would cease to be a jewish state, with instead a muslim majority. Seeing this as a very realistic problem in the future, it makes sense to solve this future issue before it becomes a problem.

While you guys are debating about being mr nice guy and making peace and giving land to the Palestines; they are busy too, Lets look in on them in merry ol England.-------

The Palestinian representative to the UK, Husam Zomlot, also addressed the rally.

"As we speak today, the Israelis are continuing the ethnic cleansing campaign they started in 1948," he said. "To the Israelis, I say that there will absolutely be no peace without the right of return." "The right of return is non-negotiable! Apartheid no more!" exclaimed Zomlot.

"We urge our government to cease all trade with Israel," said Jeremy Corbyn, a backbench Labor MP, who went on to express support for nuclear spy Mordechai Vanunu.

Former Labor MP Tony Benn said that "the apartheid wall should be removed," referring to the security fence built by Israel to prevent Palestinian suicide bombers from reaching Israeli cities.
Galloway, the newly elected MP for the anti-Iraq war Respect Party, used the rally as an attempt to launch an international boycott of Israel.

"It's about time that the British government made some reparations for the Balfour declaration," said Galloway. "Instead, Tony Blair said that Israel has no better friend than the British government. We say to Mr. Blair: You should be ashamed by that.

"The Palestinian people are like the 300 Spartans holding the pass of Thermopylae, until the others can arrive and come to their side. We will join them, by boycotting Israel. By boycotting Israeli goods. By picketing the stores that are selling Israeli goods," he said to cheers and applause.

So if you want to make the palestines happy then you should pack up and leave Israel or convert to Islam. There is no little piece of the pie that will keep the wolves at bay, little bites will only make them hungry for more of everything.

Change in the Palestines is the only other choice. So I see the status quo as the best thing until PALs become civilized.
