Should Israel Ban JStreet?

Israel has always been a country with a remarkable tolerance for free speech and the freedom to protest. But Israel is under attack from increasingly hostile organisations like 'Peace Now,' 'JStreet,' as well as the UN's plan to make Jerusalem the 'International Arab capital of the year' and so on.

All these groups have one thing in common; trying to subvert the government and administration of Israel and seeking to use their freedoms to damage the security of the state.

Should Israel actively resist JStreet by banning it's members from visiting in or operating in Israel?

And in the case of the UN to use all the armoury of the city authoritiers and when needed the government itself, to scupper the UN's attempt to invade Jerusalem with a cultural wooden horse by refusing permission and even physically blocking these events in main areas?

Re: Should Israel Ban JStreet?

Why should Israel ban JStreet? That would simply be idiotic and pure violation of political freedoms, and especially freedom of speech.

JStreet is the least of Israel's problems and in fact is a healthy voice of opposition. I would, in fact, encourage them to go to Israel instead of screaming from the sidelines.

Re: Should Israel Ban JStreet?

They don't operate in Israel and attract perhaps 3% of the electorate to the left of Meretz

Not ban, but perhaps have some sort of government media 'watch list' of Israeli hate-organizations, and put JStreet right at the top, above admitted pro-Palestinian groups? Why? Because the fact that they label themselves "pro-Israel", and many people believe them, makes them especially dangerous.

Re: Should Israel Ban JStreet?

Then you'd have to ban every college especially Rutgers, UC Davis, Columbia, Chapel Hill, Berkeley and Brandeis.

Re: Should Israel Ban JStreet?

They can't ban J Street, they are an American organization funded by the Judenrat, George Soros. Do you mean ban them from entering Israel? I don't think they should unless it's proven they are spying on Israel or organizing or inciting hate against the state. There is nothing wrong with exposing them and their agenda. In fact, they were completely humiliated a few days ago when JPost reported that their college wing does not consider themselves "pro-Israel" and will not use the slogan in fear of alienating people. What use is a ("dovish") pro-Israel lobby that is not...pro-Israel. The back peddling is still going strong trying to get out of that one.

As for Peace Now, which is supposedly an Israeli organization, there is an Israeli MK who is calling for it to be investigated. Peace Now is funded by many European Gov't's. These gov'ts are basically paying radical left-wing Israelis to spy on the Israeli gov't and issue anti-Israel propaganda. At the very least they should have their non-profit labels taken away.

What's going on @ Brandeis? Refresh my memory. You left out UC Irvine, the base of the Muslim American Society aka arm of Hamas in the US.

I think Israel should ban laughingly paranoid right-wing apologists.

Re: Should Israel Ban JStreet?

Though House Bill 867 - The Golstone Bill was rejected 36 congressmen voted for it and 22 abstained. J-Street may have made an influence as they were for it's passing.

Though it is a US organization Israel should speak up for them defaming our image and distorting the truth. Jeremy Ben Ami should not be welcome to set foot in Ben Gurion airport. They have removed "Pro-Israel" from their correspondence and will further seek to erode US support. AIPAC has fought battles for us and deserves to know that they haven't lost our gratitude.

We achieved a victory but the enemies against us want to change facts one congressman at a time.

This has nothing to do with freedom of speech. We Israelis are just calling a fraud a fraud.

We should call them an arm of Hamas and Hezbollah and Jews who belong to their ranks are no better than Nazi lovers. Let them try and grow their numbers knowing we dispise them.

Every religious group in the same set of circumstances would take to the streets if they had to endure the junk we take in.

Grow a pair people (save you girls). J-Street blows!

Hey I just found a new video...
